Summary

Travel-Tracker does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All recorded information stays on your device. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services embedded in the app.

Location data

Travel-Tracker records your device’s location for one purpose only: to draw the route of a travel you are actively recording. Recording happens exclusively between the moment you tap “Start Recording” and the moment you tap “Stop Recording”.

The app requests the “Always” location permission so that recording can continue while the app is in the background or closed. Even with this permission, location is only recorded while a recording that you started is active.

All recorded locations are stored in a local database on your device. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party by the app.

Sharing and export

You can export a travel as a GPX file using the share function. Such an export is entirely under your control: the data leaves your device only when you actively share it, and only to the destination you choose (for example an email, a messaging app, or a file storage). We have no access to exported files.

Apple Maps

Travel-Tracker uses Apple’s MapKit framework to display your routes on a map. When a map is shown, your device requests map data from Apple. This communication is handled by Apple and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. Travel-Tracker itself does not send your recorded routes to Apple; only the map region being displayed is requested.

Data retention and deletion

Your recorded travels remain on your device until you delete them. You can delete individual travels in the app at any time (swipe to delete). Uninstalling the app removes all recorded data. Note that if you have enabled an iCloud or computer backup of your device, backups made by iOS may include the app’s data; these backups are managed by Apple and by you, not by us.

Your rights (GDPR)

Because Travel-Tracker does not collect or process any personal data on our systems, there is no data about you that we could access, correct, export, or delete. All data subject rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection — can be exercised directly on your device as described above. Children’s privacy

Travel-Tracker does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If future versions of the app change how data is handled, we will update this policy and the “Last updated” date above before the change takes effect.
